xAI Tests Stand-Alone iOS App for Grok Chatbot
Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, is testing a dedicated iOS app for its Grok chatbot, previously accessible only to X users.
The app, available in multiple countries, including the U.S., Australia, and India, offers real-time web and X data access, generative AI features like text rewriting, paragraph summarization, Q&A, and text-to-image generation. Users can also upload pictures for analysis.
“Grok is an AI-powered assistant designed to be maximally truthful, useful, and curious,” the app description states. “Get answers, generate striking images, and gain a deeper understanding of your world.”
xAI is also developing a web platform, Grok.com, which currently displays a “coming soon” message for users logging in with xAI accounts.
Initially limited to X’s paying subscribers, Grok introduced a free version in November, which was rolled out to all users earlier this month.
Grok’s image generator is noted for its photorealistic rendering capabilities, with minimal restrictions, allowing the creation of images using public figures and copyrighted material.
